Bajaj Auto is half way through the development of a 350cc Bajaj Pulsar scheduled for commercial launch by 2012. The fastest iteration of the Pulsar is expected to come with liquid cooling but Bajaj engineers are finding it tough to design a effective cooling system, which is essential for such a high capacity powerplant.
The reason for using an oil cooled system over a water cooled system is the saving in space and weight. Lesser weight will help in better performance and mileage. The 350cc engine platform would be used in various variants and will help Bajaj to foray into the premium motorcycle segment in many countries including India.

I searched on net, and all I could get was rumors spread by this site… Everywhere it says source as “Motorbeam”, which led me here…

Samarth, this is internal news from a source working close to Bajaj. Bajaj have plans to make high capacity machines as said by their employees before.

I see… All right Thanks. Actually, we heard a lot of rumors before which never came true, so it was a bit hard to believe this…
But of course, with KTM involved, it is surely believable … But then, 2012 is way too far …

i am waiting for 2012 as well, i hope by 2010 or 2011 they will finalize if they are going to come up with the idea of production of this vehicle.

3 more years , lots will happen before that , yamaha might just bring in all the bikes at its disposal by 2012. if Bajaj wants ppl to take it serious it should probably hurry.

Saheb dude, do you know what a design means. Its done on paper and then only a concept is made evaluated. After all that only production happens.
