Ducati recently launched the Monster 795 in India, priced at Rs. 6.99 lakhs. Many Ducati fans were disappointed by the price as they were looking for a more aggressive price for this low cost model. Looks like Ducati has heard the hues and cries of bikers and has not decided to reduce the price of the Monster 795 by a Rs. 1 lakh for a limited period time. This tales the price of the Monster 795 to Rs. 5.99 lakhs, against the Rs. 6.99 lakhs announced earlier. The Italian automaker has cleared that this is an introductory price only and the company will revise the price to the original one after a set number of units are sold.

Ducati currently assembled the Monster 795 at its Thailand plant, bringing CKD kits from Bologna, Italy. In order to achieve low costs, the company also sources parts from Thailand. Ducati might be able to compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 650R and Hyosung GT650R with the revised pricing, however when the prices are revised upwards, the Monster 795 has a huge disadvantage due to relatively higher purchase price. The Monster 795 uses a 803cc engine to produce 85 hp of power and 78 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and has more power than its competitors, both of which produce around 72 hp.

Competing against the likes of the N650R would only stay true in case of pose value….or else practically people who bought the N650R for, would never consider the Monster for that very purpose.
