The much awaited and anticipated Hero Honda Karizma FI has finally broken cover. The new Karizma which is expected anytime soon, gets a host of features but still feels lackluster compared to the Bajaj Pulsar 220. There is still no digital instrumentation and the fairing is a rip off from the Suzuki Hayabusa.
The 2009 Hero Honda Karizma FI gets the following : -
- Split Clip On Handle Bars
- Full Fairing
- Split rear grab rails
- New Colors
- PGM-FI (Programmable Fuel Injection)
- Fairing mounted mirrors
- New rear mud guard
- New headlamp and tail lamp get LEDs
- New Graphics, Duh!!
- Gas Charged Shock Absorbers

It has a full fairing and it looks down right ugly, seems like half way through the designing process they figured out that a new full fairing would some how look cool, so they took lots of plastic (yes loads of it) gave it some monstrous alien look and used some feviquick to paste it with the body.
The result looks like an alien with a huge head and skinny lower body (see the pics and you would understand what I am talking about) and wait its not over yet from what I have read they have retained the same engine with a slight up in the power, courtesy of FI, so lets do a bit of mathematics shall we?
Say with the new FI the power goes up by 3 bhp (might be more but am quite doubtful about that) and add to it the bulky fairing which must be of some 1299836 metric tonnes. So the power to weight ratio if am not wrong should be more or else like the old ZMA, no no guys our misery is still not over, sources claim that it would cost in excess of one lakh. So basically HH expects us to shell out over 1 lakh for the new ZMA which looks basically the same except for a new full AERODYNAMIC fairing (sarcasm involved) Ok lets says I am wrong and theres a huge power gain so what ..it still looks down right ugly.
When the competition is getting so ahead, why has Hero Honda done a panic job. They seemed to be in a hurry and its more like they woke up last night and said, lets launch a new Karizma with real changes and not just new stickers.

To compliment that fairing they should have atleast gone with fatter tyres but seems like HH’s heart lies in smaller capacity bikes only and they wont go full distance to design a proper bigger bike.

this one is just a disaster from the house of hh..
it seems like ‘HH’ dont even have realised that how the bar of competition has been rased in this segment… this bike looks like a result of cheap modification on the previous model…moreover it donot have a digital speedometer..which is so common in bikes these days…
but HH might have provided much bigger tyres and it is missing as well..all over this a bike which is a complete disaster..with a price tag of rs 1 lakhs…wow this is called stupidity at its best…
this segment was created by HH-ZMA..themselves …and they were struggling to get a stand among consumers with the previous roadies variant of zma bike in the recent past after the launches of bajaj p220 and YZF R15
and now it looks like that HH should prepare for the further struggle in the segment..with the upcoming kawasaki ninja 250cc..
how much power does this bike generates anyways..?

Haha..Hero Honda does it again..trying their best to compete with the Pulsars in the bigger segment bikes and turning out with an even ulier one.SUre the Karizma may be better when it comes to engine and all those specs,but the specs also matter…and if its gonna cost u 1 lakh,i wud refer the cheaper pulsar 220 which will surely be more powerful and sure does look great..

this is the worst bike i have ever seen…it is so AWFUL…to keep it simple,HH tried to copy the full fairing of R15 but instead they ended up with a disaster…

Poor hero honda…thats only i can say…
after so long research… gaining so much experience..and also watching other competitors what hh came is this piece of junk..
old zma looks much much better than this..
i personally own a p220 but likes luks of zma more..
may be zma’s engine and performance would have improved but luks really matters..shame hh..

guys its not fully completed..i think it will be looking good on the streets.. & hero honda’s strategy is always about creating demands so they will never release a perfect finished bike in all of der bikes der will be some dues..i hope this bike is not yet completed..hero honda wont release this bike like that they will do some more mods wid its faring and graphics before they release this…

See the bike actually not in the pic, I am sure the New Karima will look good, as many bikes look odd in the pics but when you see them in real they look very much sporty.

rather old karizma was good looking…i think pulsar220 wil b the king coz in nearly 80k u r getting 21bhp wat more we want.a true value for money.i was expecting HH to reduce price of karizma to old price of 69,999 to b in compition.but i think they r playing war of price game…i mean they want to take the crown of having highest price.thums up for pulsar 220 a true value for money

(pls b ware of th most irritating thng about used bikes . misaligned front wheel aftr crash. i think hh zma handlebar doesnt get misaligned easily after a crash, nd is fixable unlike pulsars i think) ..and if fazer/ninja is out o reach rtr180/pulsar180 not bad.
r15 – dude change th sprockets and ar filter and see the diffrence (it becums a rocket) – undfortunately 6 feet peepl weel hv difficulty sittin in r15
p150 – allrounder .

Does that speedo come from hunk?with the steel ream..And there seems to another accompanying-a digital one. I love the retro styled speedo personally but them digital is the song of the new age.

Got to wait to see it in flesh!
My guess is it will be good product. I am a bit scared about the speedo meter part.. could be a let down since VFR would have more console to fill up the space than karizma.
VFR? — you may ask! Well I will let pictures do the talking…even for those noobs who have been jumping to conclusions over the look of the bike based on some naive photos taken probably by mobile-phone camera

U ppl r talkin Krazzy! How can v say tha HH guyz hv copied d full fairing of R15 ? Was R15 d first bike in world 2 hv full faired engine ?? todays i went to see new zma…..i ws thinking she’ll hav some more advance instrument…bt in real it seems very diff..as one of my frnd told me..she has nice look more sporty….im nt dening a fact dat she has stunning than old one bt it may seem like pulsr…she comes with new color dats it….17 bhpss..bt must hav to ride then i’ll decide ..whether i’ll buy or no??let wait for 15
