Hero MotoCorp recently launched the Impulse motorcycle in the Indian market, pricing it at Rs. 78,000/- (on-road, Mumbai). At the 2012 Auto Expo, the company not only had the Impulse on display along with a huge banner of the bike but also had a dirt track ready to showcase what the Impulse can do. Trained riders from South had come to pilot the Impulse, which is India’s first transroader. The showcase was worth seeing and the riders jumed, wheelied and everything in between to show how good the Impulse is on dirt terrain. I won’t divulge much and will let the pictures do the talking.
The Hero Impulse is powered by a 150cc, 4-stroke engine which produces 13 BHP of peak power at 7500 RPM and 13.4 Nm of peak torque at 5000 RPM. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The Hero Impulse is a motorcycle which feels at home on any terrain. The high ground clearance and the motocross tyres add to the go-anywhere feel the Impulse posseses. With a weight of just 119 kgs, the Impulse is easy to flick on the worst of roads and has a mono suspension to ensure it takes all the pothholes in its stride with grace.

so this time, Hero Stunt menia???
Well good riders can pull out these stunts on Kinetic Hondas too…not being cynical. But instead of all this stuntmania- I wish HM could have got the pricing right…78k on road sounds expensive. Second instead of an engine which resembles the Hunk motor (running out of steam too soon) should have been more of the CBZ Xtreme’s nature. Or a more powerful engine would have made it a darling for sports tourers.
Criticisms apart, I feel its a very decent bike from whatever I’ve been reading about it. Its a perfect urban commuter.
impulse style looks different from other bikes .but 78000 is so expensive.
Vicky, the price we mentioned is on-road.
