Honda India To Launch CBR150R?

It seems, Honda afterall does have a plan to come up with a smaller sibling of their recently launched CBR250R. Or so it is evident from one of the members of the xBhp forum. According to him, he had a light chat with the M.D of the Vellore Honda showroom during which he stated that Honda is seriously planning to launch the CBR150R in India very soon. Apart from that, Honda also has plans to open their fourth manufacturing plant after Narsapur. He also added that Honda have no problems in bringing in the middleweight 650 cc bikes to India but feels that the market is not mature enough to embrace and encourage such a kind of product. The CBR250R is the start of the performance motorcycling in India and it still has a long way to go.?

The Honda CBR150R is powered by a 150cc, DOHC, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine that produces 18.98 PS of power at 10,500 RPM and 1.37 KGM of torque at 8500 RPM. This motor is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with the bike having Telescopic forks upfront and Monoshock swingarm at the rear. Braking duties are handled by Nissin discs at the front and rear. Would you chose the Honda CBR150R over the Yamaha R15?

As far as looks goes,Yamaha R15 Looks way much better. On the other hand the power of this bike is slightly higher than R15 but weighs almost 3kg more than R15(V.2)dry. My pick is still R15.

Seriously saying, this is one of the worst designed Honda bike in accordance to its segment. The R15 looks way better than this. R15 seems to be more standard and more of an international product (although not agile and international like R125) but CBR 150 seems to be made just for thailand and nearby countries. Doesn’t do justice to the CBR branding. If they could design the CBR 150 based on CBR 250 (like they have done to recent models of standard CBR 125) it will be worth bringing. This bike’s power will be unbeatable in 150cc segment atleast for quite a time.

if you look the style of old CBR150R it’s not better than R15 but the power??? it’s bigger and adopted DOHC type… so, it’s more sporty in engine…

When we look the style and performance the R15 has a better DNA when compared to CBR 150. My choice is a Yamaha R15

Fas, R15 carries the DNA of YZF series, it looks same as the parents(R1,R6) but if you look at the current CBR250 & CBR150 it looks as adopted child in the CBR series(CBR600-CBR1000)& CBR250 looks as a lost child of VFR1000 in Kumbh Ka Mela. LOLZZZZZ

Ninu, very well said. The lower spec CBRs dont carry CBR DNA in them.

Guys I dont think the latest CBR150R produces 18.98 PS , if I m not wrong it should be around 19.7 PS, closer to 20PS.

ninu October 7, 2011 at 5:57 pm

Fas, please edit the post with pics of cbr150r 2011 model, this one is the outdated cbr150r, and the new 2011 cbr150r looks even better and well proportionate than the cbr250r.If it is launched at one lakh rupee it is a better bet than 250r.

2. Cool colour white, yellow N graphics.
3. Sport sitting position seats.
