The Mahindra Mojo was announced last year and everybody got so excited that they couldn’t wait to get their hands on one. But alas, Mahindra 2 Wheelers never ended launching one and the wait for the Mojo continues. However the wait will soon end as Mahindra is finally planning to launch the Mojo in 2012. The Mahindra Mojo’s launch was postponed as the company did not want to take risk with a high performance machine. The precision for a class of this vehicle is higher and Mahindra wants to ensure it has thoroughly tested the bike before launching it. This is a good move as pulling a bike from the market due to glitches is not a good idea, rather its best to get it right the first time around.
The Mahindra Mojo project is on at the company’s R&D facility, wherein extensive tests are being carried out to ensure the Mojo lives up to all the hype. The Mahindra Mojo is powered by a 300cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve motor which produces 26 hp of power at 8500 RPM and 24 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. Mated to a 6-speed gearbox, the Mojo features front and rear disc brakes and weighs 160 kgs. At the front there are 100 section tyres, while the rear get wider 150 section rubber. The Mojo uses an electronic ignition system and looks like a very promising performance motorcycle on paper.

whoaa ….finally its comin
for the past few months I was all sure that its gonna end up as a concept…especially after the miserable failure of stalio…mahindra seriously needs to get its product rightly prepared before entering new market…thank god they learned it now (hard way though)…stallio is back on shelves free of glitches now n I surely hope mahindra would introduce quality products as it does in passenger n commercial vehicles segment n make its name here on two wheels too
coming back to mojo …the market is nt without competitors so mojo wouldn’t have a cakewalk road….the performance bike share is growing at a rapid rate n although mojo will have a niche of its own in the segment ,bikes like cbr ,ninja, duke 200 n next generation pulsar all will b there to eat mojo s prospective market share
not to forget Yammie n suzukI n their 250cc beasts
styling wise I think mojo is one peculiar looking motorcycle..its something which we Indians r not accustomed to…but I m sure it will grow on with people as time passes
however m nt sure what this bike is ….I mean is it racing bike as claimed by mahindra ?? honestly I don’t think so
it looks more like a cross between a naked street fighter n a cruiser
n the name ..its quite funny actually…it reminds me of mojo JoJo of powerpuff girls :)… seriously @ mahindra ….is it the best name u could think of??
I think if they price it right (1.5 to 1.8 lacks) than mojo will b a formidable buy
its performance on paper looks good n the amount of technology used in it must translate into a great motorcycle on the road
hope they launch it soon but without any glitches ofcourse
Hritik, very well said. However we need to remember by the time Mojo comes, there will be Suzuki, Honda, KTM and Yamaha in the same segment.
^^^Very well said.
Fas, this is definitely a crossover b/w a cruiser and a naked bike, if mahindra could launch it in 3 avatars it will be very successful Just like Bajaj is doing. launch this in cruiser, naked and a full fairing and they could have a successful product in their portfolio.performance looking good on paper but how well it performs on road and how reliable it is only time will tell. currently from the front its looking like WALL-e or head of an Owl..lolzzz
Ninu, first Mahindra should launch it in one avtaar atleast ;-p
Finally its coming !! Good to see Indian Roads with these super bikes :)
Already Rocking with ma Yamaha R15 v2 :)
Chinmay, this bike can’t compete with the R15 on corners. The Mahindra Mojo is more of a cruiser.
I am keeing my fingers crossed…Mahindra can do with Mojo what they did with XUV5OO….
Guys do you people really think its performance is good.Powered by a 300cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve motor which produces 26 hp of power at 8500 RPM.
While The KTM Duke 200 will produce 26(25.51) Bhp of peak power at 10,000 rpm from its 200cc, liquid cooled, DOHC, single cylinder four stroke motor.
there is huge difference of 100cc between these two bikes. Mojo weighs about 160 kg while KTM weighs about 126 kg.
in every field KTM 200cc beats Mojo 300cc. I doubt on Mojo’s performance. only a fool will prefer Mojo over KTM.
Aryan, the Duke is a different segment. The Mojo is a cruiser. Till we don’t ride both we can’t really comment.
@ aryan….i agree that duke is quite a rocket on papers but we shud nt forget its the first attempt by mahindra to enter into performance biking….ktm hav long motorsport heritage n duke is result of expereincde attained frm it….we shud therefore must appreciate mahindra’s bold move…n mojo is nt a bad bike by any means for a beginner…coming back to ur argument that duke is more powerful n faster den mojo…..yes it can be since its lighter n almost makes the same power as mojo….but as they say they say “there is no replacement for displaccement” ….their would be no need of relentless redlining to mojo to attain performance….the engine will b more relaxed n better for touring purposes……i agree that duke will b the fastest street motorcycle manufactured in india but mojo can co exist ….n it willl….n dont forget when mahindra announced mojo 1 yr back the only competition in terms of price was cbr250r n likewise they released specs…..but they can tweak the engine now before the auto expo n we can expect a more powerful mojo to tackle the competition…..all fingers crossed for the auto expo :)
Cant stop Laughing seeing the MOJO Face..similar to Rango :P
Ugliest bike I have ever seen.
