Mahindra 2 Wheelers will re-launch the Stallio in December 2011. The first motorcycle from Mahindra, the Stallio was withdrawn from the market earlier this year due to the faulty gearbox and clutch issue but is all set to debut again, after being thoroughly tested. A mid-December launch seems very likely and the second iteration of the Stallio is expected to be trouble free and highly reliable. Mahindra 2 Wheelers is said to have been working on the Stallio since 8 months now, to ensure all the issues are ironed out and the bike is ready to meet the needs of customers. Lots of customer feedback has been taken as well and we expect the Stallio to do a whole lot better in its second innings.

The Mahindra Stallio was launched on 30th September, 2010. It is powered by a 110cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke engine which produces 7.3 BHP of power at 7500 RPM and 8 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. Mated to a 4-speed gearbox, the Stallio was priced at Rs. 41,199 (ex-showroom, Mumbai). It featured alloy wheels, LED tail lamps, digital instrumentation, 5-step adjustable telescopic rear suspension and multi-reflector headlamp. The bike was available in 5 colours at launch – Black, Blue, Green, Red and Yellow.

They should have done it Honda way, launching 150cc or 180cc powerful product first, making a brand value and then enter into mass segment.

Ninu, a top-down approach would have been good and I guess Mojo was there for the same.
