The 250cc segment is the new growing segment with more and more players pitching in their products in this segment to gain the market share. We already have the CBR 250R from Honda and the Ninja 250 from Kawasaki. Recently Hyosung also announced that they will be bringing the GT250 to India soon. There were also speculations that Suzuki, the long silent player in the Indian market would be introducing the GW250 to the Indian market next year. Now, it seems the GW250 has got a new but strange name for itself: the Inazuma 250. The Inazuma 250 looks very similar to the codenamed GW250 and was showcased at this year’s NEC motorcycle show.

The bike is powered by a 248cc parallel twin engine that produces 26 BHP of peak power and a good 24 Nm of peak torque. The engine is liquid cooled and the power and torque figures stated here are not fully disclosed till now. The kerb weight of the bike is supposed to be about 180kgs. Will Suzuki showcase this bike at the upcoming 2012 Delhi Auto Expo? Chances are, it actually might going by the demand the 250cc segment is seeing now. By showcasing the bike at the Auto Expo, the company can gauge the consumer response for the product and plan to launch the bike in the market. Meanwhile, there have been some reports that the bike can give the CBR250R and the Ninja 250 a good competition by being priced below it. The speculated performance figures are very much comparable to those of the CBR250 and going by the looks of the bike, will be a good option for the consumers apart from the CBR250 and the to-be-launched Hyosung GT250. The bike also looks quite good and with its naked styling, should command decent sales figures.

Suzuki is going FIAT’s way.. Launching conservatively styled bikes with below par technology! Look at their international portfolio! They can never become volume player with this attitude.

The plastics go the overhang way and as Sushrut said…its a too conservative design. Try to make it like a mini GSR600…it’ll work.

Something different from CBR250 & Ninja 250 better to have without fairing.
