I took an RTR 160 Refresh on Nov 9th 08.
Any idea if i can get the rear petal disk on my RTR? Or do i really need to go for a major change to get the rear disk?

I am not aware whether you can get this done after you have got this bike. I think this is done at the factory level. Why don’t you ask your dealer and see what he has to say? I think it will need major changes but i hope you get the rear disk for your RTR :)

Rear disk I think require a rim change as a tradition rim was made to hold the drum hub. then there would be some more mechanical change. It should cost you more then 3 or 4 times of what the company is asking in addition i.e. 2k :)

Suhas, just check the rear brakes, if they have disk then you have a RD. the RD stands for rear disk and thats the only difference.

The rear disc has only one piston which makes braking very ineffective. There brake is not sharp at all and sometimes feel worse than a drum brake. If you are investing in this bike, please go for the one without rear disc. Save the 2k and spend it on something else on the bike.
I have this bike for 3 months and based on ownership experience I’m writing this.

The tail light looks so good, but costs 1350! Damn over-pricy ! Why TVS is not using simple cheap tail lights? Why I should pay 1350 for just a crappy chinese item called “RTR tail light”? Answer TVS !
