The Supreme Court has allowed TVS to manufacture TVS Flame, the 125-cc bike sporting twin-spark plugs, the technology for which Bajaj Auto claims it holds the patent rights. However, it did not permit TVS to move its “finished product (motorcycle) from its warehouse” after the company gave an undertaking in this regard. Which just means that TVS can manufacture the Flame, but they can’t sell it. God bless our judicial system.
“Both parties are restrained from using this order for any other purposes including publicity,” the Bench said while posting the matter for the next hearing in the first week in August. The order came on a petition filed by Bajaj Auto Ltd challenging the Madras High Court’s ruling that permitted TVS to use twin-spark plugs in its motorcycles.

I hope they let them sell also the flame with twin sparks and give some sort of punishment to Bajaj for illegally claiming many decade old technology as their own. I was a big fan of bajaj one time but frankly i don’t give a damn to them now what with so much of attitude … most of which should come crumbling down in coming months.

Sumit, Bajaj is behaving too stupid. Instead of fighting with TVS they should be getting into JVs with them and thus make India proud on the International biking scene.
