Yamaha India plans to launch a more powerful version of the Fazer in September. The new Fazer is expected to come with extra power to counter the fastest Indian motorcycle, the Pulsar 220. While the Yamaha R15 with performance kit outperforms the Pulsar 220s top speed of 144kmph, Yamaha wants a street motorcycle to dethrone the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi and thus plan to give more power to the Fazer. The new Fazer is expected to have a 250cc engine with a top speed in excess of 150kmph.

“End of this year” I want to buy a good bike now, i thot of going for Karizma R but the waiting period is 3 months, RTR180 vibrates, Fazer is under powered, My brother already has P220, Fas I donno what to do. So many reasons builds blocks. When is Honda’s 200c, RTR220/250, HH 250cc going to be launched? My budget is just arounf 80K, I cant offer more than that. :(

Yamaha Fazer 250 is not expected to hit Indian markets anytime soon. The Fazer 250 will turn out to be an expensive option as is the R15, the Indian markets run on price sensitivity. People don’t mind spending 4 lakh on a car but 1.5 to 2 lakh for a bike seems too expensive. Bikes have been mostly viewed as commuting vehicles rather than touring machines. It is this sick attitude of the Indian consumer which fails to draw good performance bikes (250 to 500cc) to Indian shores, 1000cc bikes aren’t practical for our road conditions. The Government regulations suck, bikes not allowed on expressway/sea-link. At least bikes above 150cc should be allowed.
