Audi India is planning to introduce a more powerful diesel engine in the A4 to compete with the BMW 320D. The engine Audi is planning to launch in the A4 is the 170bhp 2.0 litre diesel. The current 140bhp diesel in the A4 is quite down on power infront of the Bimmer. However, Audi is concerned about the diesel particulate filter (DPF), which is better suited for Bharat Stage IV fuel but that will be available only in 2010 and only in the metros.

sounds like a lot of fun. I actually feel the A4′s new engine would beat the BMW 3-Series. The thing is Audi’s service network is still behind BMWs. And also the no.of.outlets in the country is behind BMWs. I think Volvo should take some measures here as well as these two are running away with it.

Audi car with diesel engine sounds very promising! At least they are trying to make their car more attractive to buyers.

But comparing it with BMW? Well, Audi does have great designs and good performance. But BMW cars are excellent! If I would choose between the two, I’d still choose BMW.
