BMW is on a roll after its automobile and motorcycle sales increased 14% in February compared with the same month last year. The company has managed to sell 80 units of the 100 limited edition Gran Turismo cars allocated to India. The Gran Turismo is powered by a 3.0L diesel engine producing 180bhp of power and 540Nm of torque. It uses a 8-speed automatic gearbox and rides on 245/50/R18 tyres bolted on turbine styling light alloy wheels. The car is brought via the CBU route to the country and is priced at Rs. 63,00,000/- (ex-showroom).

When the 1 series came out, I didn’t enjoy it. Suppose if it appeared to be closer to what the 2002 was and was (much) lighter, less expensive, and had a genuinely excellent I4 (turboed or not, I do not care) then I would enjoy it greater, but whatever. What side tracked me further was the predictable M model that ought to of course be known as the M1. I couldn’t help but feel that it just could not be right to compare and contrast the two M1s. Nevertheless, since the 1 series came out in the US, the M division has created 2 SUVs that don’t even come with a manual. The Porsche Cayenne has one, was it that hard? Anyways, times are changing so go on and call it an M1. Superior to produce a decent, or potentially awesome, auto than to not build it whatsoever just mainly because a mess of fanboys would get hurt.
