Chevrolet Tavera was pulled out of BS IV cities as its 2.5 liter diesel engine failed to comply with the new stricter emission norms. However GM plans a comeback with the launch of a new 2.0-liter common-rail diesel engine by the end of this year. The new engine produces close to 100bhp and will be sourced from local car maker, Sonalika. The same engine does duty in the Qualis clone Rhino. We expect a slight price hike in the Tavera when the car goes on sale with the common rail oil burner.

Change of heart alone is not enough. High time Chevy came out with a more modern design.
