The Fiat Grande Punto has redefined the B+ segment with the level of equipment at competitive prices. However how does the Grande Punto fare against the competition? Votes by Motorbeam readers suggest they would pick up the Grande Punto over other cars in the segment. The Swift came a close second, which was quite a surprise. Zigwheels has made a very interesting chart for both the diesel and petrol variants which shows how the cars match up.

From the above comparison, Swift D seems to be a clear winner on almost all the parameters.Add to that ASS and brand reliability, i dont understnad how GP is the first preference.Could you please clarify the preferences whether they were made on anyother list of options..

Akra, the Punto ranks over the Swift with better equipment, stability and ride. You can read the review of the GP at http://www.motorbeam.com/cars/fiat-grande-punto/fiat-grande-punto-multijet-test-drive-review/

It’s not easy to understand the reasons why GP is leading over other brands if you would just focus on the name itself. But if we read the reviews, features and possibly specifications of GP, it’s understandable. Many buyers will really buy a car with better equipment and stability, it’s also possible that the previous consumers of GP definitely find it a great car thus the good reviews.

Punto is generation ahead than i20/swift. Everything in PUNTO is marvellous. Looks, Styling, Safety, Build, Turbo Speed, Handling, Engine, Mileage and Budget also.

some ppl crying about interior plastic/service/resale. I have the answer: Interior has traditional look and looks fantastic. Plastic seems to be cheap but actually it is costly. Compare woodland shoes to sparking road side shoes. Service is very nice and not hectic like hyundai where u get service after 2/3 days. Why u thinking for resale before buying a new car???? Someone say it is sluggish on 1st and 2 nd gear but this is a feature for turbojet engine for better mileage… you can zoom like anything when turbo starts at 5th gear……

    Punto rocks baby.

I am using Ritz diesel for the past 5 months. Being a frequent long drive enthusiasts, I have taken Ritz to my native place which is 400 km away from my city. Ritz is giving me an incredible 23 kmpl in highways. Most of my friends were surprised. But, believe me, Maruti has once again proving to be the No.1 for providing value for money cars like Ritz.

Prem. I own Punto 1.2 Petrol Punto & I am getting 17-18 KMPL mileage from Petrol Punto, One of my friend has 1.3 Diesel Engine & he is getting 24+ mileage on highway. FIAT Rocks. RITZ is nowhere when it comes to features, ride & Handling, stability to Punto. Punto ROCKS.
