Fiat is planning on introducing more powerful engines for the Linea in India. On the cards is a 1.6-litre Multijet diesel producing 118bhp and 30.6kgm of torque and a 1.6-litre petrol that produces 106bhp and 14.7kgm of torque. Both engines are expected to be launched in India by the end of 2009. The price is expected to be around Rs. 50,000 more than the current Linea.

It’s nice to hear that finally Fiat is going to introduce more powerful engines in Fiat Linea.I too had felt that the engines currently powering the Fiat Linea is slightly under powered.Happy to know that finally Fiat is back into action.

Looks like powerful diesel engines for Linea is only going to be a dream. Better start looking elsewhere. The wait is not worth. Fiat would only stick to the underpowered present engine. They simply is not listening and least bothered about customer requirements.
