The Fiat Linea will get the much needed boost it deserves with the 1.6 Multijet diesel engine at the upcoming Auto Expo. The new engine will boost the power to 105bhp, which will remove the slow tag from the car. The Linea will also get new colours which are already seen on the Grande Punto. Also on the cards is the 1.4 T-Jet with 120bhp on tap.

how good the fiat cars may be it can never beat honda from the day fiat entered the indian market they launched good cars but with stupid engines they made many mistakes and still doing the same and hondas every car which is launched is a success and even people dont mind paying a bit more for a honda see what happened to linea a briliant car even though the diesel engine is puny it has good power they messed up with the engine by retuning it .have you ever heard of honda or japanese car breaking down .these idiots can never learn they should pack there bags and go away. the feel good factor and attention to detial which is present in honda is missing in fiat

i guess this piece of news regarding 1.6MJD is not fully credible…bcoz there is another version flying around regarding the gear box of GM and to replace which FIAT is trying to develop a completely new gear box on its own and the resultant is that we cant expect 1.6MJD before the end of 2010..so can you please confirm this article considering the above rumor..on a lighter note i am rather waiting to replace my 1.3 DDIS with 1.6 DDIS..bcoz 1.6MJD would clear the block for Maruti to unleash the beast..:-)…and that would be completely different story and might even rank up in the list of most awaited cars of 2010…

CKRA, there has been alot of news flying around about the engines which the Linea will get soon. However a T-Jet will not serve the purpose because it won’t be fuel efficient and Fiat will commit the same mistake as before. We need to wait and watch but as per what I have heard from Fiat, a new diesel heart is definitely on the cards soon.

Amazing color…new Linea sounds interesting. Like all comments here, I’d watch and see first before making my final feedback.
