The fiat multijet has turned my perception towards diesel engine.Believe me,u drive a multijet,u hooked up to diesel,once a diesel always a diesel.An year back, back in home in india i bought a swift vdi,swore never to buy a petrol now.Right now i am in thailand and have rented a toyota hilux 3.0 litre D4-D 4×4.The engine is a gem,power delivery is smooth,tap the accelerator and bam,u have power but lacks the smoothness of the multijet,dont know why.The diesel clatter is a bit audible.But the sound of the turbo spooling is intoxicating,which is somewhat muted in the ddis.

There is no much differences in between Industrial and automotive engines. Only Central excise and other Taxes, Industrial engines cheaper. If I get a above engine, I am able to make a best 3 phase Generator set with a very much smooth and powerful performance.

you need an industrial diesel engine designed for running a generator, not a car sourced diesel.The applications are different

Ramakrishnan, these engines are not for sale to you. Fiat only sells to partner companies like GM and Fiat.

What is exact BHP in 1.3 Multijet Diesel engine, when it runs in 1500 RPM in full load ? and what is the price for engine ?
I am asking the above question for to try in Generator set.
I shall be glad to receive Answer from Fiat company soon.

this new generation of diesels make them equally fast as many petrol engines plus they use less fuel

I’m into diesel engine cars…Multijet engine sounds good. This is definitely interesting, I’d love to check out one soon.
