HM Guys are a big joke, they should stop producing amby in this state now, by now it should have been in the antique collection somewhere in the car museum. I can’t understand what is the point launching the same car design which is almost a 5 decade old, they are just tweaking and playing with the minute changes in the interiors. I totally agree that amby had done great in the past when it was at its pick in 70′s but this is 2011 now.
They should have come-up with a ‘all-new’ model which could have the modern and sophisticated engines, the 21st century designs, sharp crease lines, good use chrome lines, little more dramatic head lamps and tail-lights and at the same time by keeping the DNA of the old Ambassador. The best examples are VW Beetle, Fiat 500.
Whats you take on this guys?
Mandar
absolutely agree with Mandar…!
Thanks Deepak :)
I do not agree with you guys!
My Question to you
Have you ever be privileged to own or drive this Monster yet safest car?
Beetle/Fiat500 are no doubt best in itself but not safe in accident and also too expensive and small for those who do not want to stretch.
You take Beetle/Fiat500 or any other car on the road/Highway and try to overtake another vehicle and you see a State transport/Truck who refuse to give you a way.
This does not happens with Ambassador. It captures the road and make sure that opposite side truck must give way to pass through.
I do not know why they stopped the production for HM Contessa. It can be a good Muscle car like Ford Shelby GT / Dodge Charge/ Camero
HM Ambassador knows its customers and so its customers knows HM Ambassador.
Nothing Personal, but it all depends on the bottom line
CAN YOU AFFORD IT?
Hey Djmadmax,
Who told you Beetle and Fiat 500 are not safe? In fact these cars are acknowledged by the safest car awards, and I am not saying this, read articles here:
http://www.safercar.gov/Vehicle+Shoppers/5-Star+Safety+Ratings/2011-Newer+Vehicles/Vehicle-Detail?vehicleId=6340

My dad, uncle and many of their friends everyone has ‘afforded’ and used this Amby a lot, when there was no other choice back in 1960s and 70s.
We are in 2012 now and HM is offering the same vehicle with new door handles, and new floor mats as ‘Upgraded version’. If you read my comment again I have stated:
“They should have come-up with a ‘all-new’ model which could have the modern and sophisticated engines, the 21st century designs, sharp crease lines, good use of chrome lines, little more dramatic head lamps and tail-lights and at the same time by keeping the DNA of the old Ambassador. The best examples are VW Beetle, Fiat 500.”
In fact I am of a opinion that they should maintain Amby’s ‘Vintage Value’ and not degrade it by offering the same 5 decade old model in 2012.
BTW, you are right, I will not afford it to buy Amby in the current state, because it doesn’t have a resale or neither vintage value ;).
Mandar
Faisal, What’s your take on this?
Mandar, I feel the Amby is the worst car on sale today. It is highly obsolete and the design might be retro but highly unsafe, not only for the passengers but also the pedestrians.
