The Honda Brio is scheduled to be launched in India in September and the company has been extensively testing the car. Spotted on the Noida Expressway (quite close to the Honda factory), the Brio will be positioned right below the Jazz and will Honda’s first real volume product for India. The Honda Brio will use the Jazz’s 1.2-liter i-VTEC motor, producing 89 BHP of power at 6200 RPM and 110 Nm of torque at 4800 RPM. The company might detune the motor for fuel efficiency, which is crucial factor for small car buyers.
From the pictures, the Brio looks very similar to the one sold in Thailand. However there are no fog lamps, alloy wheels and rear wiper which indicates two things. Either the car pictured above is the base variant, or Honda plans to price the Brio very aggressively, by launching the Brio sans some features. We expect the Brio range to start at Rs. 4 lakhs with the top model being priced at Rs. 5.5 lakhs (all our estimates are for ex-showroom, Delhi).

To ugly from rear…BRIO “Honda Papa, I don’t want to go on Dirty Indian roads”
looks ugly from the back. from side looks like i20 slashed from the back.
Ugly eh?! The Toyota Qualis was as ugly as shit but broke all sales records and re-defined the whole ”MUV” segment so to speak..Just wait till the Brio’s launched- there’ll be waiting periods of 5-6 months! Just like the Etios- which isn’t Funky/Pretty/Handsome either.. Fas bhai.. any insights?
Anoop, if Honda price the Brio well, it will sell alot. Also the design looks better than the Etios Liva.
Right said Fas..cheers
Completely in agreement with you on that point Fas! Cheers!
If it is ‘ugly’ from back then Etios looks ordinary (I’ll not use the word ugly) from Front. Which one wl u prefer- An Ugly ‘Face’ with good looking back OR a preety ‘Face’ with average back ! Besides car, in every sphere of life.
Ya Copy cat Indians always buy waiting products .. lol How easy to do business in India !! pathetic mentality of majority !
Perfectly true Navjot
