Honda is planning to launch the new City in September. The new City looks like a toned down version of the current Civic and will be positioned above the current City. The current City will still sell alongside.
The new City will have a newly designed and shaped G-CON structure sporting a toned new line up of powertrains. As far as the new features are concerned, Honda is likely to introduce paddle shift gear option, dual airbags, integrated music system with steering mounted controls, anti-lock braking system (ABS), temperature control and electronically adjustable front seats. The new City will use Honda’s superb i-Vtec engines. The SX4 has made a dent in the current City’s sales to a certain extent, and Honda’s plan is to revive the sales by launching this new version. But Maruti wont sit still, they have their weapon ready to be unleashed, its their fantastic multijet engine which will do duty in the SX4. Honda also plans to launch a smaller capacity engined new City later on. Let the battle commence.

It looks good with an overall attractive appearance than the earlier model. After looking the present shape and known features from earlier Honda City ZX VTEC Plus, I am very much fascinated to purchase this car instead of New Toyota Corolla Altis. Is there any chance to become owner before October 2008?

I would like to congratulate Honda company for launching a middle range car with most attractive and stylish. It looks very extraordinary from outside, especially front, but rear is not equally impressive. I personally feel that the combination of the proposed front and outside appearance of new-Honda city with the rare shape of existing City ZX VTEC Plus would be much more attractive than the projected one. After going through the web site (http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2009-honda-city/1029182/) and known features from earlier Honda City ZX VTEC Plus, I am very much fascinated to purchase this car instead of New Toyota Corolla Altis. What will be the price of this new Honda city model? (I really appreciate, if the Honda company’s gives response via e-mail). Is there any chance to become owner before October 2008?

Dr. J. Venkateswara Rao – Yes the new City is indeed much more attractive then the ZX, however this car won’t be match to the Corolla Altis. The Altis is bigger, has more power, more space, more features and overall is a better car then the new City. Honda plans to launch the car by October but knowing the Diwali rush, it seems difficult to get delivery of the new City before November. The price of the new City is expected to become 80k more then the current one. I would say if you have the budget for the Corolla, then go for the Corolla, if you want a Honda then go for a Civic and if like the New City then go for it and save some money since its cheaper then the Corolla Altis
