Honda recognises that a lot of potential customers for the Jazz might want more than a puny 1.2-litre engine under the hood. Considering that the Honda Jazz shares its platform with the City, Honda is considering slotting the 1.5-litre 110bhp engine from the City under the Jazz’s bonnet but not before 2010. This engine would transform the Jazz’s performance, but will add an estimated Rs. 70,000/- to the price.
Honda is also considering offering an automatic transmission with the 1.5-litre powerplant. With the automatic transmission option, the Jazz could be dearer by over Rs. 1 lakh. However, Honda feels there will be takers even at this price point.

Dr. Soma, I doubt Honda will launch diesel variants anytime in the near future.

Dr. Soma,
I really hope that Honda won’t launch any diesel variants of Jazz/Fitt.
The diesel with turbo charger is only for keeping the Europian car makers on the market but everybody should know that the diesel cars’ll kill us!
I’m a Jazz owner and the 1.2 is really enough. Enough for my, for my family and for the environment.
I would glad to buy the EV car

I would be enough in the city!
