Honda Starts Dealer Training Of Mobilio As Car Reaches Service Centres [Scoop]

Honda Mobilio Service Centre

You read it first on MotorBeam. With the Honda Mobilio scheduled for a July launch this year, the Japanese automaker has commenced the dealer training of the MPV as the car was spotted at a Honda service centre recently in the country. Rivaling the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Innova in the MPV segment, the Mobilio is targeted primarily at families who want a stylish vehicle with the convenience of a large MPV and the dimensions of a compact car. Honda will start promoting the Mobilio with TVC’s and on-ground activities from early July onwards.

Powering the Mobilio is the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine from the City and Amaze that produces 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The MPV is also powered by the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine from the City that produces 119 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission. Keeping with the fuel efficient nature of the i-DTEC engine, the Mobilio diesel is expected to be frugal returning an impressive fuel economy.

Based on the Honda Brio platform, the Mobilio shares its front fascia with the hatchback, while the rear tail lights are reminiscent of the new City sedan. Honda states that the Mobilio addresses to the key concerns of an MPV like their big size and low fuel economy, but uses the strengths offering more space and convenience on the inside. The 7-seater MPV packs in several features as well which include alloy wheels, reverse camera, touchscreen infotainment system and much more.

Honda will be commencing the production of the Mobilio MPV at the company’s Greater Noida plant from this month onwards, while the launch is expected sometime around mid-July. The company is targeting the MPV segment that contributes 12,000 per month to the overall vehicle sales in the country. However, does the Mobilio make it to the Honda success club with the City and Amaze can only be determined after the launch in July.
