Hyundai Santro & i20 To Get New Variants

Hyundai has not had any launches for some time now but with BSIV emission norms coming into effect next month, the company will upgrade its cars to Bharat IV. Along with the upgrade, Hyundai India will also be launching a new variants of the Santro as well as the i20. The new Santro variant will be dubbed the GLS with Audio and will feature an audio system with USB port and 4 speakers. This variant will come at Rs. 9,999/- premium over the normal GLS. The i20 1.2 will get three new variants Era (the new base variant) Sportz and Sportz with alloy wheels. The Sportz variant will be positioned over the Magna and below the Asta. The Asta (O) will continue to be the top model of the i20.

    Hi,

    What would be the price range of new santro that will be launched in April-2010 with Bharat stage 4 norms.
    Also can you mention the I-20 – ERA version probable price.
    Is April -2010 confirmed for the launch??, as i am looking forward to buy it.
    Both are really great news from Hyundai India Ltd.
    Expecting soon.

      Vivek, no that is not the new Santro and the Santro will have no changes to its exterior or interior in the near future.

    Thank you for the reply.
    I got my doubt cleared and planning to Buy i20 model of Hyundai. What i could see from the reviews posted in the website is that the “GROUND CLEARANCE IS REALLY POOR IN I20 ” .
    I feel it is true, looking at the CAR. Can i go ahead but for this reason??. The only thing that is breaking my head is about the “GROUND CLEARANCE”.
    Will it be good if i take the car on highways and bumbpy roads with a good speed??
    Please advise me on this part.

      Vivek, did you read out road test review of the i20? We found no issue with the ground clearance which is adequate for most Indian roads.
