All car manufacturers are vying for space in the B segment. Hyundai India will launch the much awaited diesel version of the i20 in the first week of July. The i20 diesel will compete against the Swift Diesel, Ritz DDIS, Indica Vista Quadrajet, Fabia Diesel and the Fiat Grande Punto Multijet. The i20 Diesel will be launched in Asta trim and will be powered by a 1.4L 16V DOHC CRDi unit producing 90PS@4000rpm and 22.4kgm@1750-2250rpm.
The diesel i20 will use a VGT and not a FGT which is found in other diesel cars in the segment. The car is expected to cost Rs. 85,000/- more than the equivalent petrol variant. The car was spotted by team-bhpian geeash in Chennai undergoing testing.

Oh that’s interesting…I’m sure many would be intrigued by this car. Due to present economy, any new diesel cars would be considered.
