The numbers are finally out. Mahindra has announced that it has received more than 25000 booking applications for the XUV500 in the second phase of bookings for its latest SUV. These numbers are from 19 cities, where the Mahindra XUV500 is available. The bookings were opened for just 10 days (25th January to 3rd February) and showcases the interest the XUV has generated among SUV buyers. Now Mahindra will undertake a draw to decide on the delivery schedule and waiting period for those who booked in the second phase. Mahindra had received 8000 bookings for the XUV500 when it launched the crossover way back in October 2011.
But what makes the Mahindra XUV500 such a hot favourite in the country? Firstly the looks of the vehicle are very pleasing. People in India give heavy weightage to looks and the XUV (even though over detailed) ticks all the right note on this front. The second factor is the price and features. On both these parameters, the Mahindra XUV500 is far ahead of the competition. The price is less than that of arch rivals, while the SUV also offers abundant features. With such a high demand for the vehicle, even if Mahindra start producing 3000 units every month, it will take them atleast another 6 months to deliver these to customers!

I guess the draw is for everyone irrespective of when they booked in 10 days. kindly confirm.

Gosh….draw???? Taking nothing away from this lovely vehicle…but this draw thingie is a bit too much. Is it a vehicle or a MHADA flat ;)
M&M has struck gold with this product! Now they have to deliver it within acceptable time which I am sure they will do.
the clutch is a swing ride, so heavy only truckers will be familiar with! needs a good automatic gearbox! and the mood lights flicker to the note of the engine! add some descent power connectors while at it…lottery is a good touch, they can add a roulette for weekly draws as well by katrina!
