Mahindra will be re-opening the bookings for the XUV500 in January, 2012. The automaker had received 8000 bookings of its latest SUV in just 10 days after launch, leading them to temporary halt fresh bookings. Mahindra will be delivering all the old bookings by next month and will start accepting fresh orders. The bookings were initially opened in Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. Currently the production of the XUV500 is on schedule and Mahindra is in the process of increasing it at its Chakan plant.
The Mahindra XUV500 was launched in three variants – W6, W8 and W8 AWD. It is powered by a 2179 cc, mhawk 140 motor which produces 140 BHP of power at 3750 RPM and 330 Nm of torque at 1600 RPM. Having a 7-seater capacity, the XUV500 is priced at Rs. 12.62 lakhs for the W6 variant, Rs. 12.97 lakhs for the W8 variant and Rs. 15.06 lakhs for the W8 AWD variant (all prices on-road, Mumbai).

Mahindra, there are high chances of the XUV bring launched in all the tier 2 cities.
