Mahindra Launches Gio Compact Truck

Mahindra has launched India’s first 4 wheel 0.5 ton Compact Truck, the Gio. The vehicle targeted at the cargo commercial vehicle segmentis priced at Rs. 1.65 lakh, (ex-showroom) for the BSII version and Rs. 1.68 lakh for the BSIII version. The Gio is powered by a 9.1 HP Kohler engine from Kohler, USA and is claimed to give a mileage of 27kmpl. The Mahindra Gio features car like controls which makes it easy to operate. It is being manufactured at Mahindra’s Haridwar facility and will initially be available in West, North and select Eastern states and shortly thereafter in the rest of the country.

“With the launch of Mahindra Gio, we have created a new Compact Truck category in the commercial vehicle segment. The Mahindra Gio is the first of its kind entry level 4 wheel cargo vehicle, and is all set to change the dynamics of the small CV segment. As city limits gradually expand and distribution needs increase, the Mahindra Gio presents a high earning potential for customers who will benefit from its high mileage, low maintenance cost, optimum utilization of space and low acquisition cost,” said Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Mahindra Automotive Sector.

    This new launch from mahindra is the new Cmpact mini truck which is first of its kind in india in the 0.5 ton segment and i personally feel this one is going to come out good and will be really helpful for small businesses around the nation.

    Well guys to be fair,
    I dont think that the looks are important in Gio’s case,
    The only thing which is important is the mileage which is 27 kmpl and the pricing which is 1.65 lakhs.
    i think it is a total value for money.
    Plus its a 4 wheel drive!!!

    Looks aren’t important here.
    it is good for small business men.
    Carrying freight, fmcg products etc would be easy and affordable in Gio as it is priced at just 1.65 lacs
