A simple, reliable, fuel efficient truck. No silly gadgets, no heated leather seats. A pure utility truck that is economical to operate. Perfect for your local repair man, delivery man, courier, park ranger, small farmer, or small business man. The Big 3s' offerings are too feature laden. They're over engineered and over competitive. You don't really need an F-350 unless you're towing a yacht or a 40 foot RV. Many people just want something capable of packing items that are marginally too big to stick in their trunk. Things like home appliances, table saws, lawn mowers, etc. A radio and some A/C is nice, but other then that, a bed and some cargo straps are all they really need. As far as selling in America goes, the recession is pretty much global right now, and they've probably been planning for a US release since the crisis hit, (I'd say 07 or 08 at the latest.)
