Maruti Suzuki has received an order for 35,000 units of the A-Star for 2010-11 from Nissan. The two Japanese car giants are in a contract for three years and Nissan’s order could be revised upward depending on the demand and market situation. Nissan sources the A-Star from Maruti’s Manesar plant and sells it in the European market as the Pixo. The recent A-Star recall has cost Rs. 32 crore out of which 40% will be borne by Maruti while the vendor will pay the remaining amount.
