Maruti Suzuki will soon be unleashing the Alto 800 on Indian roads, positioning it as an entry level offering. The vehicle seems to have arrived at a few Maruti Suzuki stock yards in the country and Team-BHP member Diesel lover managed to snap a few images too. The pictures show the CNG tank in the boot and thus its safe to say that CNG variant will be provided on the Alto 800 since day one. There is a CNG sticker on the rear windshield as well.
The other pictures reveal the Ford Figo inspired front end and Hyundai Eon inspired tail lights. The vehicle seems to be built to a price, which the quality levels of the car clearly show. The LXi model is equipped with full wheel covers and even a driver side airbag. The interiors of the Alto 800 are an improvement over the regular Alto F8 but still lack in quality and design. The power window switches are placed in the centre, which are inconvenient to operate.
Maruti Suzuki is likely to price the Alto 800 at around Rs. 2 lakhs, a price at which it would compete with the Tata Nano. Power will come in from the same 800cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine which does duty on the regular Alto. The Alto 800 will be launched next month and will be a volume player for the company. With CNG option being offered, the Alto 800 will be the cheapest Maruti to run. Expect mileage figures to be close to 20 km/l (under standard test conditions).

No doubts this will get maruti’s sales up. They just know the pulse of the public and create something that always gets appreciated (even thought it might look a bit ugly).

Looks Ugly.
If Maruti can maintain price tag,Can be hit.
Interiors are better but cant be compared with fit and finish of eon.

among the small budget car i think alto 800 is the best…see the mileage+ price + the trust on Maruti. Eon is a lil bit costly and mileage is also less than Maruti alto800.

Hi nickel I hav been using this brand for last 10 years, maruti 800, esteem , currently using swift dire and planning to buy alto 800 s well, was a bit confused between eon and alto 800, after doing the detailed study of this car I think alto wins the race and the only reason is eons gearbox is not very reliable it has too much of vibration and u need to fiddle a lot with it in traffic to get it right, and belive me or not this is a big sad back and i hav also got feedbacks that people had taken the car back to the dealer because of this issue, and also the pick up and milege and space is not very good in its class, but yes styling and the way it has been specked is way ahead of alto in that, however alto doesn’t look that attractive s compare to eon but on practical side it has a very nice and reliable engine and gear box, very smooth, no vibrations on even high revs , and also good fuel economy and more space for passenger and luggage s compare to eon and even the maintainence cost is low s compare to Hyundai , however I am not sure where to cng cylinder is based , hope u found my review use ful
