Maruti Suzuki will be unveiling the production version of the Ertiga MPV at the 2012 Auto Expo. The car has been spotted multiple times under test and now Vaibhav ShouryaVeer Gupta has snapped the car in Gurgaon, near the Maruti Suzuki factory. The pictures reveal the high influence the car has to the Ritz from the outside, while the interiors seem largely influence from the Swift. There is no doubt that Maruti Suzuki will be sharing the parts bin with its other products to price the Ertiga competitively. Speaking of which, the Maruti Ertiga MPV is expected to be priced between Rs. 7-9 lakhs.
The Maruti Ertiga will see the debut of a new K14 engine, which produces 95 BHP of power and 13 Kgm of torque. Naturally the Fiat Multijet motor will find its way into the Ertiga, which produces 89 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque. Measuring a lenght of 4265mm, the Ertiga will not benefit from small car excise duties but will offer decent seating in the three rows of seats. Its main competitor will be the Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova. Expect this Maruti to be as popular as the Swift and will help the Japanese automaker in penetrating a higher segment, something which the SX4 has not been able to do till now.

It has symptoms of becoming a taxi !
Vinay, I guess it won’t be able to take the Eeco’s place.
Good job :)
Thanks Raj ;-)
This is how a beige cloured interior swift would look like.
Maruti is making fool of people! Maruti fooled people with erstwhile Versa which was of similar design and purpose by selling it @ 7-8 lakhs. Now Versa has become Eeco and sells for half the price. Same is true with Errrr..tiga!! And Maruti like Bajaj is baap of component sharing. They can easily sell all their cars at 50k discount and still make huge profits!!
one thing is always missing in Maruti vehicles is space, if it’s an Innova beater then where is the space? it looks small and more like a streched ritz and they still wants to sell it for 7-9 lakhs, not digested well. Indians are not what they used to be 10 years ago, now they have enough choises and enough education to choose a good value for money vehicles.
Maruthi and tata should come out of box and make eye catching designs similar to what hundai is doing with its fluid concepts..
Yes it will be a big flop like versa and after 2 years they will bring eritga for 4 lacs
Design wise looks average – swift’s front and Ritz’s back. They have come so late in the segment with Ertiga,it should have been a wow but it is not. I think Mahindra XUV 500 got the WOW.
Maruti Suzuki’s Ertiga looks very promising, its international styling is just to die for. This car is really going to make it big on Indian market.
one of the most ugly luking car ever made….but gud review…..!!
