The Maruti R3 is a MPV designed by Maruti Suzuki India’s Research and Development Department, Opel and copied by Maruti. We completely understand the association between the companies and their car sharing philosophy (the Ritz is nothing but a Opel Agila) but why does Maruti harp so much about the R3 concept being the efforts of their engineers when it is nothing but a Opel Meriva with some glamour?

Dear Writer of this article,
I am sorry to disappoint you but Concept R3 is not the same as Opel Meriva, neither is the Ritz a copy of Opel Agilla.Infact the Opel Agilla was always a Suzuki Wagon-R and only the latets generation vehicle shares the same structure as the Ritz.(Pls read Wikipedia if you have doubts). The Opel resembles an Opel Jazz more than the R3. In an age when a so called Indian company like TATA gets its styling done from Italy and engg from Germany, one must appreciate when a company like Maruti which is bred on Suzuki designs tries to design and engineer vehicles by itself. That is why the hype is there.
But I also understand that at the end of the day, every Tom, Dick and Harry is entitled to their own opinions.
P.S> I am not a maruti employee or own a Maruti car. I own and Opel car infact and have driven the Opel Meriva. I was shocked on seeing the Honda Jazz more than the R3.
Request you to please research, study and then present your opinions if you can. That would lend your blog an iota of credibility!!!!

Max, wikipedia is not a reliable source. Remember me, you and any tom, dick and harry can edit it. The R3 is influenced by the Opel Meriva and there is no doubt about it.
