Suzuki has unveiled the 2013 Wagon R in Japan, which has got updates all around. The company has also unveiled the Wagon R Stingray, which is a sportier version of the Wagon R. While there are high chances of Maruti Suzuki bringing in the updated Wagon R to India in 2013, the company will not bring the Stingray anytime soon (atleast not till 2016). The front remains unmistakably a Wagon R, while the overall vehicle appears to be taller than before. The rear gets revised tail lights.
The interiors of the 2013 Suzuki Wagon R gets heavy revisions. The steering wheel is new and the gearbox is now mounted on the dashboard rather than the floor. The company has also reduced the length of the Wagon R marginally, but the wheelbase has been unaltered. Suzuki uses a 660cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine in the Wagon R in Japan. These engines are offered with and without a turbocharger, producing 65 PS and 53 PS of peak power. These engines will not make it to India.
Sales of petrol cars are already declining and the overall sentiment in the automobile market is quite negative. The recent fuel price hike and interest rate hike has already reduced demand. Automobile manufacturers are planning to appeal to the Government to roll back the increased excise duty (which was done in April 2012). Maruti Suzuki has already seen a sharp decline in sales due to low production of its hot selling models, the Swift and DZire. The company is working on a compact diesel engine which could make its way to the updated Wagon R.

The present Wagon R that we get here in India, is an India only model I think. The Wagor R of Japan is not the same as the Wagor R of India.
I think the above exterior design of the Japanese WagonR has been around for 3-4 years already. And I think its too Japanesy for Indian tastes.
So dont expect the above design to be coming over to India.
Though I have to say, I really do like the interiors.

This design is very japnese, there boxes are accepted but in India they aren’t.

If Maruti_Suzuki had control over Indian Auto market, they would have never allowed Hyundai to enter India. We will still be buying 1961 design Maruti 800 for Rs. 4-5 lakhs as the best car in the world (without any change) and living in stone age. Maruti is anti development and advancement and anti-competition. Tata got more patents for development of NANO than Suzuki will ever get.

smelling some melafide in your comment to promote other models. Maruti is best cheap maintenance, good resale value much better then others, simple to maintain, best fuel efficiency truely a peoples car.no other car company sales figure is near to it though these companies are spending millions to put maruti down and in advertisement

Ce nouveau modèle du wagon ,sera-t-il commercialisé ,par suzuki en Belgique? Il aurait du succès .Je voudrais remplacer mon “vieux” wagon suzuki par celui -ci ,de la photo;Sera-il commercialisé en Belgique,en 2013? Si oui,succès garanti .C’est une petite voiture tellement pratique,avec un beau coffre ,et places confortables à l’intérieur,malgré sa petite taille .Pour les mamans,conduire les enfants,pour les pensionnés qui ont mal au dos ,pour la ménagère qui doit faire les courses….. seconde voiture,très pratique,dans un ménage.ON L’ ATTEND!

Not a good look…present model is the best in looks and performance as far as i know. I have visited Maruti dealer last time, as per the sales executive this is not that model which will be actually launched soon. So i suggest the prospective buyers not to be panic and wait for the actual car to see in the showroom. I suggest if this model is actually a model which will be launched then its not so good in looks and better to go for present Lxi or Vxi model…..

the new wagon r has launched.. it comes with stylish new front grill and bumper, dual tone interiors, eagle wings audio system with a new dashboard.. I think OBD-ll is a new engine technology. According to company it gives 20.51 kmpl.. Overall its looking better than the previous one. Interior is looking superb. I have read a add today.

interior is too good specially gear system which is mounted on desk board in place of lower part.Average is good but so reduce cc only 660 cc is low.
