2012 Mercedes CLS 350 Launched At Rs. 67.67 Lakhs – Live From Event

Mercedes-Benz has launched the new CLS in India, priced at Rs. 67.67 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The 2012 CLS-Class is the first car in the world to come with full LED headlamps. The CLS boasts of the lowest co-efficient of drag and has an air matic suspension coupled with Mercedes 7G – Tronic gearbox.

“The New CLS 350 is a new benchmark in the premium coupe segment- both in terms of design and sophistication as well as practicality and performance. The equipment and luxurious fitments are second to none; the aggressive stance conveys assertiveness… indeed the New CLS is the perfect expression for the young aggressive Indian,” Mr. Debashis Mitra, Director Sales and Marketing, Mercedes-Benz India, said.

The CLS is the first passenger car in the world to offer LED High Performance headlamps. This new light system provides, for the first time ever, the Intelligent Light System already proven in Mercedes models fitted with bi-xenon headlamps in combination with LED technology. The headlamps, with their 71 LED lamps in total, underline the appearance of the CLS. The car also features for the first time the LED technology, in the innovative Adaptive Highbeam Assist, resulting in an entirely new level of safety for night-time driving.

Navjot, no diesel. Not a very smart move by Mercedes, as the Audi A7 is available with 3.0 TDi engine.

@Fas: Price wise I would say the engine is fine. Picture this the W12 Audi A8L costs more than a crore. Our Director owns an A8L V6 diesel which has nearly the same figures as this one- and I guess it costs nearly the same.

Deepak, my concern is the engine and not the price. This should have had a diesel motor and not a gas guzzling V6.
