Nissan India is planning to change its import strategy for the X-Trail and Teana as it intends to bring down costs and boost sales. The vehicles which are CBUs attract high import duties and thus the company is planning to switch to completely knocked down kits (CKDs). If implemented we can expect to see significant price reduction on the X-trail and Teana, close to a tune of Rs. 5 lakhs. The company is under way of setting up 55 more dealerships before they launch their small car in the country.
