Nissan has unveiled a futuristic concept car that tilts through corners up to an angle of 17 degrees to make drivers feel like they are
gliding through the air. The zero emission electric Land Glider can seat two people and is just 1.1 metres (3.6 feet) wide which helps it squeeze into tight parking spaces and through narrow streets. Instead of a steering wheel, it has airplane style controls. Inspired by motorbikes and glider aircraft, the four-wheel car has tilting wheels and moving fenders. Special sensors calculate the best tilt for negotiating a corner.

“In the past a car used to move only in a two dimensional way but the Land Glider can move in a three dimensional way,” Ryusuke Hayashi said. “Although you are driving on the road, you feel as if you are flying,” he added.
