When its strategic partner has become aggressive, Nissan can’t sit doing nothing. The Japanese automaker has charted out an aggressive plan to capture a large chunk of the market with the launch of five new models in 2012. It is already present in the small car segment with the Micra and expects to enter the A2 segment with Bajaj and Renault. However, sales are growing at a tremendous rate in the MPV segment and thus Nissan plans to launch the NV200. The NV200 will compete with the Toyota Innova and will be manufactured by Ashok Leyland (Nissan’s JV partner).
