Nissan To Launch 5 models In Four Years

Nissan has ambitious plans for the Indian market and targets to launch 4-5 models over the next four years with its first model the Nissan Micra slated to hit the market before summer 2010. The Micra would be available in both the petrol and diesel versions. After the Micra, Nissan plans to roll-out a derivative of Micra, a sedan, in 2011.

“We propose to launch four to five models over the next four-five years in the Indian market. Our first car is scheduled for launch by summer 2010,” Nissan Motor India’s Managing Director and CEO, Kiminobu Tokuyama, said.

    Small details missed by Nissan : Chennai pPlant not yet ready, is there a market for a small car based on the A-star with unconventional styling, economy is slow – people will likely put off purchases.
    I like the outline of the car – its reminds me of the VW Beetle but I think the front could have been done much better.
