Land Rover has become very serious about the Indian car market. The company recently commenced assembly operations at Pune and is betting big on its small sized SUVs to expand its market share. Tata Motors CEO Carl Peter Forster has confirmed the launch of the Range Rover Evoque in early 2012. We expect the Evoque to be launched at the 2012 Auto Expo. It will be powered by a 3000cc diesel engine which produces 240 bhp of power and most importantly returns 20 kmpl mileage. The Evoque will slot above the Freelander 2, so a Rs. 40 lakh price seems quite possible.

WTF… the UK version is just 30,000 (24 lacs) pounds…. with a 2.2 litre that generates 190 bhp
if LR can manufacture Evoque or bring CKD in india it can complete even 3 series, X1, X3 and the upcoming Q3 and many other… so price of around 30 lacs wud be ideal…
