Reva Electric Car Company’s (RECC) founder and Chief Technical Officer Chetan Maini has revealed that the next generation of the electric car will be released in May. The car’s next generation lithium-ion batteries will give it a range of 120 km and it will have a top speed of around 80 km/h.
Maini also said that customers using the current Revai will be allowed to upgrade to the new car when released. A new feature of the car will be a “quick charge” feature that will allow users to charge the batteries to 90% capacity in just one hour.
The next-gen car was featured at the Climate Solutions Road Tour in Bangalore where Maini flagged off a line-up of the new cars that also sported solar panels. The road going version of the car, however, will be minus solar power.

I could never drive this one – its just too bizarre lookign for my tastes – the tesla roadster though – THAT i could get into!!!
I personally hope that the next gen of electrics will be hydrogen powered electrics – from what top gear said about the honda clarity, it is a very viable idea
