As posted earlier the facelifted Skoda Laura will be here in May. It has a redesigned nose with larger, more prominent headlamps, a new bumper and restyled grille. Even the bonnet has been reshaped slightly to give it a bolder profile, adding strength to the design. The tail-lights have been subtly restyled, but the illuminated ‘C’ visual remains, making the car instantly recognisable at night. There are additional reflectors in the rear bumper to aid visibility when parked. Redesigned alloy wheels complete the look. The Laura now has larger wing mirrors which also have a heating function to prevent fogging – useful during the Indian monsoon.
The refreshed cabin has a new four-spoke steering wheel and a redesigned centre console with green backlighting. The top-of-the-line model has an integrated multi-media interface, combining in-car entertainment, GPS navigation and mobile phone connectivity. The new Amundsen stereo has a touch-screen interface with self-explanatory graphics to make it easy for first-time users to operate.
The Laura will also get a 160bhp TSI petrol motor, with a seven-speed DSG ‘box. With all these features on offer, we expect Skoda to revise prices but the car will still be competitively priced, notably to Group stablemate VW’s Jetta.

Looking forward for the new facelifted laura launch! I checked with Skoda bangalore (Vinayak motors) and according to them, only exterior aesthetic changes in the indian model. Apparantly, nothing has been done to the interiors (stereo sys, wood paneling, etc.) Anyone know if its true or not? The new 160 bhp petrol will be launched first in May and will be priced cheaper than the existing 1.9L diesel. Looking forward to it…

Srinivas, you can get your Laura in 1-3 weeks.
K.J – I think its untrue because Skoda won’t only upgrade the exterior, otherwise it won’t be a upgrade.

I have recently bought old skoda laura a month back, after my several query about the new model of skoda laura, the dealers i.e. Mahavir Auto Insisted me that the new laura will only be launched in month of october-november, So i bought the new one.
and now after the launch of new laura within a month of my pruchase, i feel cheated, this was the first time, I opted for skoda, and the experience is bad, the company guys say that we cannot do anything in this matter, i would request you guys not to with Skoda any more as there are many new cars coming up in the maket with better pricing, model and durability.
I will never go back to skoda again.

Prashant, all dealers will say such things to clear their stocks. You should never trust the dealers and always checkout on the internet about the news of the launch. The new Laura was coming in May was confirmed by Skoda in February itself (as you can see this post was written in February) so the dealer has surely cheated you just to clear his stocks. Never listen to dealers they always look at their profit and not at customer satisfaction.
