The events occuring over the past few weeks have finally forced TATA motors to pull out of the Singur facility in West Bengal. With the October deadline in sight, TATA motors is keen on rolling out the first batch of the NANO as scheduled. Since the conditions in Singur were not condusive to work, Tata engineers had dismantled dies and other key fixtures unique to the Nano from Singur and started moving them to an undisclosed location.

Company officials did not disclose the new location from where the NANO will be manufactured but in all probability the NANO will be rolling out from TATA motors Pantnagar plant at Uttrakhand which currently manufactures the TATA ACE, a small mini – truck.

Meanwhile TATA motors is currently in talks with the Karnataka Government for the proposed site of the new plant near Dharwad. According to the company, two locations near Dharwad have been found to be feasible for the new manufacturing facility.

However reports also state that the NANO will also be rolling out from TATA’s PUNE plant which is almost ready with the first batch of the NANO, which are rumoured to be red in colour.

Wherever the first NANO may roll out from, one thing is certain, that TATA motors will go to any extent to keep its promise and roll out the PEOPLE’S CAR in time.
