The 2011 Tata Safari replacement (internally known as Safari 18) will be called the Tata Merlin. The Tata Merlin is the next generation of the Safari (the current Safari will still sell with a minor update to the interiors and exteriors) with the addition of dual mass flywheel to the current 2.2 DICOR engine. Also to feature would be a slight exterior upgrade (new lamps et all), better quality plastics in the interior, improved air conditioning, improved gearbox and better ride quality. The engine, gearbox and alloy wheels which will feature on the Merlin are already doing duty on the recently launched Aria.

when I was at teens, I saw this car released in the market, now I live in USA and i drive Audi A6 but I still admire this car more than my A6. I hope Tata will address the quality and reliability issues with this new version.
ME TOO… When I was in India and I was in teens I saw this suv in 2002 and now I have been in US and drive BMW but still my Love for this safari has never reduced … Hope Tata doesnt change its masculine look more but should improve qualtiy and after sales service :-)
