Tata Safari Storme Explorer Edition Launched

Tata Safari Storme Explorer Edition Front

Tata Motors has just launched the Safari Storme Explorer Edition, which was showcased recently in June at the HORIZONEXT campaign, where the carmaker introduced a slew of facelifts. The Explorer Edition comes with accessorised exterior and interior to attract buyers. On the outside, the Safari Storme gets an additional nudge guard, chrome garnish on the headlamps and tail lamps, door visors, Explorer badging all around and Explorer compass decal on the hood. Other optional accessories include cycle carrier, cargo basket and roof-mounted canopy.

On the inside, the Safari Storme Explorer Edition comes with leather seat covers and additional features such as 2-DIN touch screen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity and provision for reverse parking camera. There is an additional Garmin navigation device too. The Explorer Edition is available at all showrooms starting at Rs. 10,86,000/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). The base LX variant of the Safari Storme retails at Rs. 10.29 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) so there is a price difference of Rs. 57,000/-. The special edition Safari has been launched in order to push sales, which stand at 598 units for the month of July.

The competition of the Tata Safari Storme, which includes Mahindra XUV500, Mahindra Scorpio and so on, is way ahead in terms of volumes. The overpriced positioning of the Safari is the reason for its poor demand. Reminding you of the tech specs, the Safari Storme comes with a 2.2-litre VariCOR turbo diesel engine that produces 140 PS of power with 320 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is a class leading off-roader, equipped with electronic shift-on-fly system to toggle between 4×2 and 4×4 modes, available on the top-end VX trim.

    Looks fantastic to me!
The vehicle gives you great road presence and at times a truck like feel. I think this is one of the best off-loader under 10L. This has just got better. But still more is expected!

Dude are you day-dreaming. Who said it is priced under 10 lakh. The old Safari is priced under 10 lakh. The new storme itself is priced around 15 lakh. Storme explorer will be priced higher.

The Storme is priced between 10.29 – 14.11L with a sturdy engine and a stable chassis. They also offer a Explorer Kit for an additional 56,800k, just go to any TATA dealer and inquire. The specs and features the storme offer is well worth the price. Its great off road as it is on road.

Awesome looks…tat Compass on bumper, add beauty to Safari. Missing the back tire on storme. But still My favourite Off- Roader Monster.

Good move TATA. Hope we will see more compass storme’s roaming around in the city.

Explorer edition with those offering is not enough for the competition since other can easily follow the same trend. Ok for the starter and Safari fans, but they have to explore some more innovative offering for wider audience that no other could follow. Maybe some more works on the hardware underneath.

The Body looks on sides is the only issue which looks too old. Tata can redesign the doors and have it look like the bulky Nissan Patrol. That change would make a huge difference in sales. The front is superb, so as the rear.
Consider a package for a new stylized doors. The 2 DIN is perfect.
