Toyota has finally launched one of the most awaited SUVs in recent times. The Toyota Fortuner is powered by a 3.0L D4D diesel engine which puts out a respectable 171PS of power and 343NM of torque mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox (Auto box to follow by end of the year). The Fortuner has full time 4WD and is priced at Rs. 18.45 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The price might look a bit steep for a car which is a Innova from the inside but Toyota is importing the car from Thailand and thus being a CBU the price goes up.

The Fortuner comes with dual front airbags, ABS, disc brakes, climate control, 17″ alloys, leather seats, multi-information display. The Fortuner is available in super white, silver mica metallic, grey mica metallic, black mica and light blue metallic. Toyota managed 2500 bookings of the Fortuner even before announcing the price, which goes to show how much trust people have in the Toyota brand.

There’s an FTA between Indian and Thailand that covers Auto parts in CKD. Toyota is trying to fool people, just because SUVs in india are sold in the 18-20 l bracket. It seems its sold in thailand for an equivalent of 10-11 l?

Don’t find much of difference with the other models – the one launched here is not lined up on the page – however you will get an idea!!!

Keep in mind the Indian model is a 3.0L D4D!!!
