Toyota India will launch its hybrid Prius early next year. The car will be unveiled at 2010 Auto Expo and is expected to cost in excess of Rs. 30 lakhs due to the CBU route and 105% duty levied on it. Toyota doesn’t really intend to sell many cars and wishes to boast its image in the hybrid sector. We Indians love show and the tamed down look of the Toyota Prius really doesn’t attract us to it. From the environment point of view, it surely is a good car to buy though.

Allan, it is indeed quite boring. The engine will give you good mileage not V6 performance.

Price tag of 30L? :D Toyota would be lucky if they got to sell even 10 of these. :P
