New Volkswagen Jetta Launched – Live From Event

Volkswagen has just announced the launch of the new Jetta in India. The new Jetta is priced at Rs. 14.12 lakhs for the Trendline, Rs. 15.39 lakhs for the Comfortline and Rs. 17.99 lakhs for the Highline (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).The company is doing a unique launch of the next generation Jetta by unveiling it at Mehboob studio in Bandra, Mumbai. The new Volkswagen Jetta (codenamed New Compact Sedan) is cheaper to produce for the German automaker and is larger too. The new Jetta is now in its sixth generation and is based on the PQ45 platform. The Volkswagen Jetta is powered by a 2.0-liter TDi diesel motor which produces 140 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. It is 90 mm longer than its predecessor. The new Jetta is available in four variants – Trendline, Comfortline and Highline manual and Highline automatic with DSG transmission.

    Thanks for the coverage.
    Sad that there are no shots of the side profile. Pics say it all. When in the launch ceremony, it’s really important to have the product shot from all possible angles, and include more details.
    Can’t even see the Navarra alloys on the R16s!

    Nice initial review motorbeam. can we plz have some interior pix too coz I had heard that rear seat wud be much more spacious than the current one.

      The new Jetta is definitely a better looker than it’s predecessor. Though I agree the front could have been made more impressive and unique.

        Amx, those pics are not with a better stance. That Jetta is lower and has bigger wheels.

          Uh ho! Euro version! Those must be 17”! Apart from the wheels (and thus lower stance), nothing change. Though in any case, a better looker than the predecessor.
