Volkswagen India will launch the new 2011 Jetta on the 17th of August, 2011. The German automaker is heavily betting on the diesel model as fuel prices have been rising continuously. The 2.0 liter TDi diesel engine in the new Jetta will produce 140 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. The new Volkswagen Jetta shares no parts with the Golf (a car on which the original Jetta was based on) and is 4.64 metres long, 1.45 metres tall and 1.78 metres wide. This makes the 2011 Jetta 9 cm longer than model it replaces. A 6-speed DSG and a 6-speed manual will do duty in the car, with no sort of BlueMotion technology making it to the new Jetta. Prices will remain similar to the current generation, helping VW in a formidable attack against the Japanese.

Manish, they call it the family design. I call it laziness.
Manish and fas, you are right. Its really lazy on the part of VW to make similar looking cars which just differ in size and specs. Members of a family look (and can look) different from each other!!
