The 2010 World Car of the Year has been declared at the 2010 New York Auto Show and the 59 international journalists chose the Volkswagen Polo to be the winner. Other finalists were the Toyota Prius and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. The Audi R8 took the performance car of the year award, whereas the design award went to the Chevrolet Camaro. Volkswagen’s diesel Bluemotion tech bagged the green award.
